karaoke idol

i had a good weekend. all i want to do is ride my bike, so that’s a lot of what i did. kyle and i rode our bikes all over chicago on friday. we made some stops for food, coffee, beer, karaoke, and then more food. we sang karaoke at my sister’s house with my sister and her friends. she has the karaoke game for playstation and she bought the 90’s singstar game, so we got to sing en vogue and the gin blossoms and all the other good stuff that was popular in the 90’s. whoever has me on their team always loses. i asked kyle to rate my singing voice on a scale of 1-10, 10 being “i’m going to hollywood”, and he generously gave me a 2!
i actually sang karaoke for the first time in public at my sister’s bachlorette party a couple weeks ago. tara and i sang this jam together-
youtube wouldn’t let me post the real video for the song, but i think the sims video is funnier anyhow.
also! here is a picture from the barbeque we had a my parent’s house for father’s day-

i call this picture “puberty”
it’s almost 6 am and i am awake. i fell asleep at 11 pm and can’t go back to sleep because it is hot in my apartment.
wednesday night my mom woke up and didn’t feel well. the next day she went to the doctor and it turns out she had a minor heart attack. she had to have a triple bypass surgery and will be in the hospital until this wednesday. i visisted her on friday after her surgery, but she had a breathing tube and was too sedated to really talk anyhow. i’m more excited to visit her later on when i can’t really tell that she had a major surgery.
my dad told me that he found out the next day when he heard my mom talking to the doctor, that when she woke up on wednesday night she said she felt like she knew she was having a heart attack. she didn’t tell my dad and just waited until the next day to go to the hospital. i’m still trying to figure that one out. it is rude to wake someone up in the middle of the night to ask them to bake you a pie. it is not rude to wake someone up in the middle of the night to ask them for a ride to the hospital because you’re having a heart attack.
on a lighter note, my sister is in good health and is getting married on the 28th. if you ever have to plan a party, hire these gay cheerleaders-

seriously. i wonder if they do get well parties.
p.s. i’m going to be playing kickball this summer with my sister and her friend’s team, teen wolf 3.

when i used to play MASH, being slam dunked by teen wolf was always the fate i crossed my fingers for. i told my sister that when she told me the name of the kickball team, and she said that i could use that to taunt the other teams. for example, she said that if i get a home run, i could say “YOU JUST GOT SLAM DUNKED BY TEEN WOLF”
