I’m not sorry.

I have decided to start writing in one of these.   At first I was a bit self-conscious about writing my own blog, but I’ve read enough to know that you don’t even have to be particularly interesting to have one.  You just need to think you are.  I can do that.

 Anyhow, I’m also currently making a mix cd.  I wanted to make something that the 2nd graders and I can agree on.  How do I do that?  Well, here are the first two songs on the mix-

1. French Kicks – Knee High

2. Hannah Montana – Nobody’s Perfect.

Normally on “Dance Party Friday” I let them listen to the music of their choice, but if i have to hear the high school musical soundtrack one more time, I will surely put a gun in my mouth.  I usually only use my music to discipline them.  For example, “Get off that desk or I swear I will put on that Joanna Newsom song!”

One day when they were acting crazy I made them listen to Beirut.  One of the kids said “This sounds like opera”, but in a tone that let me know what he really meant to say was “This blows”.

 I think I’m going to go take all the songs that I like off that mix cd now.
